Synopsis

«Sita» is a goddess present in various tales of Hindu mythology. Myths are a part of every culture in the world and are used to explain natural phenomena, such as where people came from and how their behavior is. In the story I write to you, the author with the knowledge of Indian mythological characters, especially Sita, has created a new story, which bridges cultures and creates space for coexistence and friendship. In this story, Laleh, who is angry with her friend, receives a gift from her: a souvenir from India. It is a Sita doll and the adventures that happened between Laleh and that Sita doll, and etc. are all told in this picture book. The author, Laleh Jafari, has tried to create attractive and expressive ways to deal with issues such as peace, friendship, and cultural connections in the world by using some special cultural symbols

About the author : Laleh Jafari was born in Isfahan in 1966. She is one of the famous and popular writers for children and youth in Iran. She has received numerous awards including: «Hello children» Year Award Book, The book of the «Year of Growth» in (several courses), The selected message of the 100th anniversary of Hans Christian Andersen in 2005 and other awards. 

About the illustrator : Sahar Khaleghi was born in 1988 in Tehran. She is an illustrator, painter, and graphic designer and also, she is a permanent member of Iran’s Illustrators Association. Her works have been exhibited in many countries, including Germany, Poland, Turkey, China, and Ukraine. Furthermore, in 2018, she received the special award of the 5th Gold Panda International Illustration, in China.
