Richter is the son of a German mother and a Cameroonian father who lives in Cameroon. In the first novel, his father had some difficulties to educate him alone and sent him to the village’s High school where he fell in love with Blessing, a girl from an Anglophone region of the Country. At the end of that school year, Blessing had to leave Richter’s village with his father.
